Khanh Hoa - While farming, a resident discovered a pangolin caught in a net and proactively handed it over to functional agencies to release it back to its natural environment.

On July 21, news from Tay Khanh Son Commune Police said that they had coordinated with relevant units to receive and complete procedures to release a rare pangolin into the natural environment according to the provisions of law.

Previously, on the afternoon of July 17, Mr. Cao Minh Quoc Tai (born 2002, residing in Ta Giang village, Tay Khanh Son commune) while farming in the locality discovered a pangolin caught in a net.

Realizing that this is a dangerous, precious, and rare wild animal belonging to Group IB, Mr. Tai carefully removed the pangolin individual from the net and brought it to the Tay Khanh Son Commune Police headquarters for handover.

After receiving it, Tay Khanh Son Commune Police advised the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee to direct the Economic Department to coordinate with the Commune Police and Khanh Son Forest Protection Department to make a record and check the health status of the pangolin before releasing it back to the natural environment in accordance with regulations.

Tay Khanh Son Commune Police praised the spirit of self-awareness and awareness of wildlife protection of Mr. Cao Minh Quoc Tai, and at the same time advised people not to hunt, raise, or illegally trade wild animals.

When detecting acts of hunting, trapping or illegally raising wild animals, people need to promptly notify the police or local authorities for handling according to regulations.
