On the morning of April 9, at the regular meeting in March, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee unanimously approved the Project to merge Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station.
The merger project was developed to implement Conclusion 126-KL/TW of the Politburo, continue to streamline the organizational apparatus, build a unified and developed local press system in a modern and professional direction, effectively serving propaganda work and socio-economic development requirements of the province.
Accordingly, the post -consolidated agency entitled the newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station, the mouthpiece of the provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party, the authorities and the Nghe An people. The unit performs the propaganda function on the following types: Printing newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television and digital platforms; Operating according to the model of public non -business units under the Provincial Party Committee, with legal status, seal and private account.
The organizational structure after the merger includes the Editorial Board and 12 specialized departments, a reduction of 4 departments compared to the present. Temporarily maintain the same number of leaders with 1 Editor-in-Chief and no more than 7 Deputy Editor-in-Chief, the roadmap for streamlining the deputy level will be implemented after 5 years.
In his concluding remarks, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung acknowledged the contributions of the two press agencies in recent times, affirming that the merger is an inevitable trend, in line with the Central Government's policies and the province's practical requirements.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that during the merger process, it is necessary to ensure continuous maintenance of propaganda activities, without interruption; at the same time, pay attention to ideological work for cadres, reporters, and workers.
The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee assigned relevant agencies to continue completing legal procedures, arranging organizations, personnel and financial mechanisms so that the merged unit can officially come into operation from May 1, 2025.
The merger of Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station is expected to improve propaganda efficiency, optimize resources, promote multi-platform advantages to better serve the information needs of the people and the sustainable development of the province.
