Lam Dong - Believing in recruiting "light work, high salary" online, a young man illegally emigrated to Cambodia and was then forced to participate in a fraud ring.

On July 20, Hoa Ninh Commune Police (Lam Dong) said that the unit had just issued a warning about tricks to entice workers with the trick of "light work, high salary", luring people to exit illegally to serve cross-border fraud organizations.

According to Hoa Ninh Commune Police, in July 2026, the unit worked with Mr. N.H. T (resident of Hoa Ninh commune) after this person was deported and handed over to Vietnam by Cambodian authorities.

Mr. T confessed that because he was unemployed, he looked for a job on TikTok. After that, he was introduced to a job of loading and unloading goods in Cambodia with a salary of about 15 million VND/month.

Believing the advertisement, Mr. T went to the Moc Bai border gate area and was illegally taken abroad to Cambodia by the subjects.

However, instead of doing the promised job, he was put into an online fraud facility, forced to learn emotional fraud scenarios to appropriate property.

If he did not complete the target, he was beaten, electrocuted and had his meal cut off.

During a raid by Cambodian authorities, Mr. T was temporarily detained along with more than 400 people due to lack of legal papers, and then handed over to the Vietnamese side.

Hoa Ninh Commune Police said that subjects often take advantage of social networks such as TikTok, Facebook, Zalo, Telegram... to post recruitment news with attractive salaries to entice workers to illegally exit the country, and then force them to participate in fraudulent rings.

The police advised people not to believe in "light work, high salary" invitations, not to illegally exit the country or through brokers of unknown origin.

When there is a need to work abroad, it is necessary to comply with legal regulations and only participate in programs organized by agencies and businesses with functions.
