On the evening of February 9, 2026, the General Department of Immigration under the Cambodian Ministry of Interior said that the country's functional forces have investigated, arrested and deported a total of 740 foreigners who violated the law from Cambodian territory, within the framework of measures to tighten security and crack down on criminals, especially high-tech criminals.
According to information from the General Department of Immigration, the campaign is being implemented based on the direction and recommendations at the high level of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs of Cambodia, and the direct direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Lieutenant General Sok Veasna - Director General of the General Department of Immigration - requested specialized units to continue to strengthen the investigation, handling and deportation of foreigners who violate the law.
Accordingly, on February 8, 2026, the investigation and enforcement forces deported 428 foreigners, including 26 women, of 10 nationalities including Liberia, Nepal, India, Pakistan, China, Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Myanmar and Indonesia.

These people are identified as being involved in many violations, including participating in online fraud rings, illegal entry or illegal work in Cambodia.
Also on February 8, implementing the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, Lieutenant General Sok Veasna continued to request functional units to closely coordinate with the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia to organize the separate deportation of 312 Chinese citizens (no female) related to online fraud lines.
The deportation was carried out by specialized aircraft, departing from Techo International Airport, ensuring proper procedures and security requirements.
According to the General Department of Immigration, the above-mentioned deportation activities are within the framework of strict legal measures that the Royal Government of Cambodia is implementing to clean up the security environment, eliminate and eliminate cybercrime.
These measures are applied without exception, including to ringleaders, while aiming to ensure the safety of people in the region and globally.
In addition, Cambodia also emphasized the rescue of victims who were deceived and forced to participate in high-tech crime activities, creating conditions for them to be free to return home and return to their country safely.
The Cambodian government affirmed that it will continue to maintain sweep operations in the coming time, coordinating with relevant countries to fight more effectively against transnational crime and cybercrime.
