On December 20, the People's Committee of Hung Yen province coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to organize a scientific - practical workshop with the theme: "Restoration, recreation, and revival of Pho Hien heritage associated with creating a creative tourism ecosystem in Hung Yen province today".
The workshop attracted the participation of many scientists, experts, and cultural managers, thereby affirming the province's determination to look back and assess more deeply the role of Hanoi in the new development context.
After historical changes and changes in natural, economic and social conditions, the role of the port trade center of Hanoi is no longer the same as before. However, up to now, Hanoi still retains a rich heritage system, including tangible and intangible heritages, vividly reflecting a period of brilliant development of the nation's history, while containing unique values of history, culture, architecture, beliefs and urban memories. This is a valuable heritage resource, of special significance to Hung Yen province in the development process.
In recent years, Hung Yen province has paid attention to preserving, restoring and promoting the heritage value of Hanoi Street; many relics have been restored, many traditional festivals have been restored, and social awareness of Hanoi Street has been gradually raised. However, practice also shows that this work still has limitations, such as the restoration and embellishment are still individual and lack of comprehensiveness; not yet vividly recreating the ancient Hanoi cultural space; the linkage of heritage with tourism, services and creative economic sectors is not commensurate with the potential.
Speaking at the workshop, Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc emphasized that the province hopes that through the workshop, the historical and cultural values of Pho Hien heritage will be fully recognized, deeply explained and placed in close connection with current development requirements. The results of the workshop will be an important scientific basis for the province to develop specific programs, projects and solutions in the coming time.
According to the province's orientation, Hanoi is expected to gradually revive as a "living heritage space", capable of connecting and spreading cultural, creative and community resources; becoming a highlight in the cultural - tourism space system of Hung Yen. On the basis of Pho Hien heritage, the province will focus on promoting cultural values associated with developing creative tourism, services and related economic sectors, creating growth momentum and improving people's lives.
At the workshop, Professor Nguyen Quang Ngoc - Vice President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association - said that the identification of Hien Street needs to be placed in a large historical flow, not viewed on a small scale, while suggesting a direction to connect landscape axes, especially the Red River axis.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi) focuses on analyzing the reasons for the prosperity of Hanoi in history, from geographical location, natural conditions to the context of international trade.
The leaders of Hung Yen province affirmed that they will seriously absorb the opinions and scientific recommendations from the workshop, continue to improve mechanisms, policies and mobilize resources to realize the goal of restoring, recreating and reviving Pho Hien heritage in a systematic and sustainable direction.
