Ho Chi Minh City achieves positive results at information security drill

More than 1,200 personnel in charge of technology, officials and employees in Ho Chi Minh City have been trained to improve their capacity to respond to information security incidents.

On the afternoon of December 26, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC) to organize the closing ceremony and summary of the program "Training and Exercise to ensure network information security in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025".

After 5 consecutive days of implementation (December 22-26, 2025), the program has achieved many practical results in improving defense capabilities and responding to network information security incidents for key city systems.

In which, the practical exercise gathered 40 experienced information security experts and engineers participating in both attacking (Red Team) and defensive (Blue Team) roles. The attacking teams used many modern techniques, closely simulated with actual attack scenarios, thereby detecting, exploiting and pointing out weaknesses and potential vulnerabilities in the system.

In the opposite direction, the defense teams maintained a continuous monitoring state, proactively detecting early, promptly warning and effectively coordinating in handling situations arising when attacked, thereby contributing to ensuring the system operates safely and stably.

Through the exercise, the effectiveness of the multi-layer defense model is clearly assessed, thereby recognizing the rapid response capability and increasingly enhanced inter-sectoral coordination capacity, and identifying the contents that need to be further improved in terms of process, technology and personnel organization in the coming time.

In addition, this year's program also has two large-scale training activities.

The first is a training activity, training skills and network information security knowledge deployed for nearly 200 personnel in charge of information technology and information security at agencies and units in the city. The trainees directly participated in handling information security combat scenarios on simulated training grounds, gaining practical access to common attack methods, how to identify signs of intrusion and incident response procedures in actual conditions.

Training activities to improve information security incident response capacity are deployed for more than 1,000 non-specialized information technology personnel (leaders, officials, civil servants, public employees) in 168 localities in the form of direct training at 3 centralized halls and indirect training through online television to 168 localities.

The results of the "Training and Exercise program to ensure network information security in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025" are an important basis for the city to continue to improve the plan to protect key information systems, strengthen investment in infrastructure, technology, develop information security human resources and promote inter-sectoral coordination. Thereby, improving the readiness to respond to risks in cyberspace, contributing to building a safe, reliable and sustainable digital environment serving digital transformation of Ho Chi Minh City.
