In the flow of traditional Tet culture of the Vietnamese nation, banh chung and banh tet are not only traditional dishes but also carry profound meanings of reunion, gratitude to ancestors and preservation of origins. These values continue to be spread through community activities every spring.
Welcoming the 2026 Binh Ngo Tet, Saigontourist Tourism and Hotel Intermediate School coordinated with units to organize the 8th traditional cake wrapping contest with American pork, attracting the participation of a large number of students, officials, and employees.
The contest is an annual activity to create a career playground for learners, and at the same time, contribute to preserving and promoting the value of traditional cuisine in the tourism - hotel vocational training environment.
Representatives of this school said that through each stage of preparing, wrapping and completing cakes, the teams show ingenuity, teamwork and awareness of preserving national cultural values. Traditional cakes with American pork ribs are a delicate intersection of Vietnamese and American cuisine, creating products that are both close and unique, suitable for the integration trend of the culinary industry.
After the contest, the cakes were presented to difficult circumstances in Tan Thoi Hiep ward.
