On October 24, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union to sign a Plan to promote the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in 2025.
The signing ceremony took place at Mekong University with the participation of Mr. Bui Thong Nhut, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Comrade Phan Thanh Tre, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, Vice Principal of Mekong University and leaders of universities and trade unions in the province.
The ceremony attracted more than 300 delegates, including cadres, union members, students, and representatives of the People's Committees of 124 communes, wards and universities and colleges in the area.
In his opening speech, Mr. Bui Thong Nhut emphasized that the province has implemented many programs, including the "Digital Education" movement to improve digital capacity, build citizens, government and digital economy.
The new plan will focus on popularizing digital skills, guiding the use of online public services, and developing the national domain name .vn to businesses, students and schools.
Comrade Phan Thanh Tre called on union members and young people to promote the spirit of "pioneering - courage - creativity - service", deploy synchronous solutions such as digital skills training, promote online public services, deploy the domain name ".vn", build a model of "digital education in the village" and encourage research, innovation, and digital startups.
Master Thai Thi Hien, Secretary of the Youth Union of Mekong University, said that the school has developed a specific plan, deploying it to the Youth Union and students with many synchronous solutions, both learning and practicing, creating excitement and high efficiency.
Also at the ceremony, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Vietnam Internet Center in Ho Chi Minh City to honor three outstanding collectives in supporting people and businesses to have a reliable and safe online presence with national domain name digital service.
This activity contributes to realizing the goal of developing science, technology and digital transformation in Vinh Long in 2025.
