On October 7, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command said that it is coordinating with localities including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, and Vinh Long to organize a working group to survey and grasp the situation of coastal waters and islands in 2025. Colonel Cao Xuan Quan - Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command - is the head of the delegation.
According to the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, the survey aims to grasp the situation of sea areas and islands; combine the organization of inspection and control of vehicles operating at sea to grasp compliance with the law on maritime activities, transporting goods in sea areas; propagate inspection from fishing vessels on compliance with legal regulations on prevention and control of IUU fishing on the vessel's route; presented national flags and necessities to fishermen.
The survey will last for about 3 days from October 7 to October 9. Along with the survey, the delegation also visited the Con Dao special area to visit and present gifts to Party committees, authorities, armed forces, policy families, disadvantaged students and fishermen on the island; visit the historical relic site in Con Dao.
According to the plan, on October 7, CSB Ship 8001 will take the delegation from the port of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command (Phuoc Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) to start the journey to Vinh Long to survey and grasp the situation of the sea gates of Soai Rap, Tieu, Dai, Ham Luong, Cung Hau, Dinh An.
