On February 28, Ba Ria Ward Police (HCMC) said that they had administratively fined V.X. M (born in 1989, residing in Long Huong ward) 7.5 million VND for the act of "Taking advantage of social networks to provide and share false information".
Previously, a Facebook account named "M.M" posted untrue content, affecting the prestige and honor of the Ba Ria Ward Police force. Through investigation and verification, functional agencies have identified V.X. M as the user of the above account to post articles.
On February 10, Ba Ria Ward Police worked with the subject, through which V.X. M admitted the violation, committed to being responsible according to the provisions of law. This person said that he only posted content for fun purposes, not anticipating the negative impact and legal consequences of posting false information on social networks. After that, this person deleted the post and committed not to repeat it.
Ba Ria Ward Police also requested people to improve information selection, be cautious when sharing or commenting on untrue, unverified content. Violations even on social networks will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law.
