The exhibition - arrangement of "Bach Dang" is not simply an artistic event, but a contemporary art dialogue with national historical heritage. Notably, this outdoor exhibition space is impressive when placed on the shore of Ha Long Heritage Bay.
Bach Dang is the result of many years of elaborate preparation, but the artistic concept was nurtured by Le Huu Hieu decades before. The artist once shared that the moment he first saw Bach Dang depot with his own eyes left him with a deep and lasting impression: Beauty does not lie in magnificence, but in strategic intelligence, in the wonderful blend of nature and Vietnamese people in the life-and-death moments of history.

From there, Bach Dang became a symbol throughout his creative journey as a symbol of national courage, of Vietnamese intelligence, and of the depth of memories accumulated over time.
This exhibition - arrangement of "Bach Dang" in Ha Long continues that creative process, while expanding the dialogue of history and the present. Without recounting history in an illustrative way, Le Huu Hieu chose to create a three-way art space where the viewer can step in, move, feel and reflect. There, history is not an end story, but a continuing flow.
For Le Huu Hieu, history does not belong to a few outstanding individuals, but is the result of the entire nation. Therefore, all Vietnamese people who have participated in the Bach Dang miracle deserve to be honored as "monuments".

The exhibition includes 18 metal soldier statues, from 3.3 to 4.5 meters high. Before being exhibited in Ha Long, the works were introduced at Nguyen Hue walking street (HCMC) in a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, attracting widespread public attention.
One of the special features that makes "Bach Dang" so heavy is the way Le Huu Hieu chooses and processes the material. With sculptures and arrangements, art forms that allow direct interaction, "Bach Dang" takes the audience's emotions to a new level. The massive scale of the project makes the art experience not only visual, but also a physical and spiritual experience.

Born in 1982 in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh, Le Huu Hieu currently lives and works in Hanoi. He was honored by the Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations and the Japan Union of UNESCO Associations with the title " Pioneer Artist on the UNESCO Heritage Journey 2025".
In the context of globalization, when art is easily caught up in short-term trends, Le Huu Hieu chose a slow, deep and sustainable path. With "Bach Dang", he not only recreated a historical memory, but also affirmed a serious artistic approach: So that the heritage does not lie still in the past, but continues to live, continue to spread in contemporary life and in the community spirit.
