Vietnam won a ticket to the semi-finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024 with the top spot in Group B (3 wins, 1 draw). Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will face the second place team in Group A - Singapore (2 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss).
Vietnam's disadvantage is that they have to play on the artificial turf of Jalan Besar Stadium. Quang Hai and his teammates need to be well prepared to avoid collisions and minimize injuries.
Regarding the force, the Vietnamese team will be without the service of Nguyen Van Toan due to a ligament injury in the previous match against Myanmar. In addition, center back Bui Hoang Viet Anh is open to the possibility of playing due to physical effects.
In addition to striker Nguyen Xuan Son, who is in excellent form, coach Kim Sang-sik also needs satellite arrangements around this striker to be effective in attacks.
Before the match, the Korean coach shared: "Singapore is a strong team. My colleagues and I watched them play live on the field as well as on television. We dissected and analyzed Singapore through two meetings.
The coaching staff and players also discussed tactics during the match, including when to apply high pressure. The whole team will have an official training session to complete all stages before entering the match."
The match between Vietnam and Singapore in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 semi-final will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 26.
