The 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Europe will take place from March to November 2025.
Europe has 16 places in the final round. The teams are divided into 12 groups, each group consisting of 4-5 teams. The groups with the participation of the teams in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals will be determined after the series of matches in March.
The top 12 teams will qualify directly for the World Cup; The remaining 4 spots will be determined by a play-off round with the participation of 12 second-placed teams, along with 4 teams with the highest rankings in the UEFA Nations League 2024-2025 but not in the top 2 in the qualifying round.
