On July 28, in Hanoi, the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, term 2026 - 2031, took place with the participation of 500 official delegates, representing more than 5.6 million Red Cross officials, members, volunteers and youth nationwide.
Speaking at the closing of the Congress, Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao - Chairwoman of the 12th Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society - said that after 2 days of urgent, serious, democratic and responsible work, the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society completed the entire set program and achieved great success.
With the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Wisdom - Responsibility", the Congress discussed and unanimously approved important documents, reviewing the 80-year journey of building and developing the glorious Vietnam Red Cross Society.
At the same time, elect the 12th Central Executive Committee of the Association, including typical members in terms of qualities, capacity, prestige and spirit of service, shouldering the responsibility of leading the Association in the new conditions.
According to Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, the success of the Congress is not only reflected in the resolution that has been passed, but also in the unity of will, belief and determination of the entire Association system.
The Association will continue to strongly innovate, promote its core role in humanitarian work, be a responsible member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, contributing to the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front in taking care of social security, protecting and caring for people's health, building a safe and sustainable community.
On behalf of the 12th Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, we are determined to unite as one, maintain political bravery, preserve and promote the noble humanitarian values of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, constantly innovate thinking and operating methods, improve the quality and efficiency of the Society's work, widely connect social resources to take better care of the poor, vulnerable and those in need of assistance; determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th Congress, worthy of the trust of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, people and the Congress has entrusted" - Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao emphasized.
Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao emphasized that the Congress was a great success, and that success is only truly meaningful when the Congress Resolution is quickly concretized by practical programs, plans and actions, creating clear changes in humanitarian work and bringing practical benefits to the people.
Returning to the locality and unit after the Congress, each delegate is not only the person directly implementing the Resolution, but also the nucleus to spread the spirit of solidarity, innovation, responsibility and aspiration to contribute to bringing the Congress's decisions into life soon.
With the action motto "Solidarity - Innovation - Professionalism - Self-reliance", Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao called on all cadres, members, and volunteers of the Red Cross nationwide to continue to promote the glorious 80-year tradition, unite as one, strongly innovate thinking, operating methods, drastic, creative and responsible actions, and bring the Resolution of the 12th National Congress quickly into life, worthy of the trust of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and people.
