In the 2022 - 2026 term, the Red Cross Societies at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City have synchronously implemented many humanitarian and social security activities with a total value of more than 2,708 billion VND, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the previous term, helping millions of people in difficult circumstances.
Humanitarian social work alone reached over 1,833 billion VND. Many effective models have been implemented, with widespread impacts such as "Tet of Compassion", "Humanity Month", "0-dong Supermarket", "Humanity Market", "Nutrition for poor and disabled children"...
The Associations at all levels have awarded more than 616,000 Tet gifts worth more than 320 billion VND; built 310 Red Cross houses; organized 251 humanitarian markets, supporting more than 156,000 people in difficult circumstances.
Community health care and first aid also achieved many positive results when supporting more than 2.37 million people for medical examinations and health consultations; awarding nearly 8 million meals to patients and people in difficult circumstances.
In disaster prevention and response and emergency relief, the Association has assisted more than 214,000 people affected by natural disasters, epidemics and emergencies with a total budget of nearly 170 billion VND.
The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in Ho Chi Minh City, term 2026 - 2031, approved the new term's operating direction with the motto "Professional - Timely - Transparent - Sustainable - Applying technology".
Accordingly, the Association will continue to promote digital transformation, build a humanitarian communication ecosystem, develop a digital fundraising platform, improve resource coordination capacity and expand international cooperation.
