On July 20, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFFC) of Long Dien commune (HCMC) said that it had just coordinated with Long Dien Commune Police; the Staff Department of HCMC Police to organize a conference to propagate and educate the law on drug prevention and control; guide people to raise vigilance against new drugs, synthetic drugs, drugs disguised as food, beverages, and electronic cigarettes.
At the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Trung - officer of the Staff Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police - directly disseminated the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State on drug prevention and control and guiding documents for implementation... to about 150 delegates attending. At the same time, he informed about the current crime and drug evils; methods and tricks of drug offenders and new developments that need special attention.
Delegates were also instructed to recognize new types of drugs, synthetic drugs, drugs disguised under many forms such as confectionery, food, soft drinks, milk tea, energy drinks, e-cigarettes, electronic essential oils... The conference also propagated the harms of drugs to health, family economy and social order and safety; and equipped them with skills to prevent, detect and denounce violations of the law related to drugs.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Dien commune, through the conference, more knowledge and skills were equipped to identify, prevent and combat crime and drug evils; promote the role of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and core forces at the grassroots level in propaganda and mobilization of people to actively participate in drug prevention and control. Thereby contributing to building a safe and healthy living environment, gradually realizing the goal of building Long Dien commune free of drugs by 2027 and maintaining the title in the coming time.
