In recent days, many clips promoting the harmful effects of drugs made by a police officer have appeared densely on social networks and quickly attracted millions of views and shares.
The content is close, the way of expressing it is witty, and the everyday language makes many people interested and easily accessible.
According to research, the character in the clips is Major Nguyen Van Sang - officer of the Criminal Police Department, Lao Cai Provincial Police. He is participating in the working group to strengthen the construction of a drug-free commune in Gia Hoi commune according to the plan of the Provincial Police.
Sharing with reporters, Major Sang said that in the process of sticking to the area, he realized that the propaganda of laws on drug prevention and control in the traditional way has not really created widespread attention among the people, especially young people.

From that reality, he came up with the idea of creating short clips posted on social networks with humorous, easy-to-remember content but still ensuring warning and education.
“Initially, I just tried making a short clip about drug prevention, incorporating fun music and posting it on my personal page to warn people. Unexpectedly, the clip spread very quickly, and after only a few days, it reached more than 1.5 million views,” Major Sang recounted.
After the positive effect from the first clip, from March 2026 to now, he has continued to build more than 10 videos with many different situations related to the harmful effects of drugs and how to prevent them. Many clips have reached hundreds of thousands to millions of views and thousands of comments and shares.

Major Sang shared that what makes him happiest is that most viewers respond positively, saying that this form of propaganda is closer, easier to understand and easier to accept.
In the coming time, I will continue to make propaganda clips to help people, especially teenagers, raise awareness, stay away from "white death", contributing to building a peaceful and happy life," he said.
According to Lao Cai Provincial Police, the drug crime situation in the area is still complicated. From March 20 to April 20, the Provincial Police force discovered and arrested 98 cases with 202 drug offenders, a sharp increase compared to the previous month.
Exhibits seized included 76.6 grams of heroin, more than 6,000 synthetic drug pills, marijuana and many related exhibits. Notably, up to 63.3% of cases were detected through drug testing and expanded investigation.
Along with the fight against crime, the police force at all levels in Lao Cai also promoted propaganda work. In just two months, March and April 2026, commune-level police coordinated to organize more than 1,300 drug prevention propaganda sessions with nearly 160,000 participants in villages, residential groups, and residential areas.
In the context of social networks increasingly spreading strongly, Major Nguyen Van Sang's creative approach is assessed by many as a new approach, contributing to bringing legal propaganda work closer to the people.
