Amid the vibrant atmosphere in the center of Hanoi on the night of September 1, when people and tourists flock to the streets to participate in activities to celebrate National Day on September 2, environmental workers still quietly work all night, tirelessly sweeping and collecting garbage to ensure the streets are neat and clean before the big time.
Late at night on September 1, in Trang Tien area, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue - a worker at Hanoi Urban Environment Company - was still working hard.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Ms. Hue said: "Although the work is a bit tiring, I feel very excited because I contribute to making the street neat and clean to celebrate the big holiday. I also hope that everyone will join hands, dump garbage in the right place to make the city cleaner and more beautiful and everyone can enjoy the holiday atmosphere."
For Ms. Hue, working all night before National Day is not only a task but also a source of pride. " Tomorrow the whole country will celebrate National Day, I myself feel I have a small responsibility to contribute to creating that solemn and sacred atmosphere" - she said.

Also in this area, Ms. Ngo Thi Lan - a worker at Hanoi Urban Environment Company - started her shift at 5am on September 1 and lasted until the morning of September 2.
To reduce work stress, Ms. Lan often chooses a friendly approach, close to the people.
"When I go into a crowded area waiting to watch the parade, I often jokingly say "as for garbage" so that the people can give it to me. It both creates a fun atmosphere and makes the cleaning faster. Everyone also laughed and said it was friendly, many people also encouraged us, making us feel that our efforts were recognized" - she said.

According to Ms. Lan, although the shift lasted until the next morning was quite difficult, the feeling of contributing a part to the efforts to make the capital brilliant and clean on a big holiday made her feel proud.
