Latest update from the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on July 14, the location of the tropical depression center is at about 15 degrees north latitude; 111.7 degrees east longitude, in the southern sea of the Hoang Sa archipelago.
The strongest wind in the area near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 6 (39 - 49km/h), gusting at level 8; moving in the west-northwest direction at a speed of about 10km/h.
It is forecast that in the next 24 hours , the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of 10 - 15 km/h. By 1:00 p.m. on July 15, the tropical depression's center was located at about 16.3 degrees north latitude - 109.1 degrees east longitude; on the sea from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai.
The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 6, with gusts at level 8. The danger zone at sea in the next 24 hours is from 13 - 17.5 degrees north latitude; west of meridian 114.
In the next 48 hours , the tropical depression will weaken into a low pressure area over Central Laos.
Regarding the impact of tropical depression , the northwest waters of the mid-East Sea region and the southwest waters of the North East Sea region (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago) and the offshore waters from Quang Ninh From Binh to Quang Ngai, there will be showers and strong thunderstorms, strong winds at level 6, gusts at level 8, and rough seas.
The northwest waters of the area between the East Sea and the southwest waters of the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago) have waves 2 - 4m high.
Offshore waters from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai have waves 1.5 - 3m high.
