Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on October 3, the center of storm No. 5 was at about 22.5 degrees north latitude; 120.1 degrees east longitude, in the sea southwest of Taiwan Island (China).
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 12 (118 - 133km/h), gusting to level 15; moving slowly to the northeast, speed 5 - 10km/h.
The meteorological agency said that storm No. 5 has moved out of the East Sea and is unlikely to return to the East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, storm No. 5 will move northeast at a speed of 5 - 10 km/h and gradually weaken. At 7:00 p.m. on October 3, the center of the storm will be at about 23.3 degrees north latitude - 120.7 degrees east longitude; in the southern area of Taiwan Island (China).
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 9 - 10, gusting to level 13.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, storm No. 5 will move northeast at a speed of about 5km/h, and gradually weaken into a low pressure area. At 7:00 a.m. on October 4, the center of the low pressure area will be at about 24 degrees north latitude - 121.2 degrees east longitude; over the island of Taiwan (China).
Regarding the impact of storm No. 5, today (October 3), the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea (north of latitude 20.5; east of longitude 118) has strong winds of level 7 - 9, near the storm center level 10 - 12, gusts of level 15, waves 5 - 7m high; rough seas.
Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and big waves.
