In the Southern Central Highlands and the Southern region, in the afternoon and night of October 18, there is forecast to be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20 - 40mm, locally over 80mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (rainfall greater than 80mm within 6 hours).
The Meteorological Agency warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
Regarding sea weather, currently, the South East Sea area (including the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau and the Gulf of Thailand has scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for the day and night of October 18, the sea area south of the Central East Sea, the South East Sea (including the sea area of Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind level 7 - 8.
