According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (March 31), the South Central and Southern regions have scattered showers and thunderstorms.
It is forecasted that in the evening and night of March 31, the South Central and Southern regions will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally moderate rain, heavy rain with rainfall of 15 - 30mm, some places over 60mm.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
In the weather trend forecast from now until the end of April, regarding rainfall, the meteorological agency forecasts that the total rainfall across the country will generally be 5 - 15mm lower than the average of many years; in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, the South Central Coast will have a total rainfall of 15 - 25mm lower than the average of many years in the same period, some places are lower.
The Central Highlands and the South may experience some showers and thunderstorms during the transitional season.
