The Vietnam Hydrometeorological Administration assessed that super typhoon Bavi (Vietnamese name is Typhoon Ba Vi) is unlikely to move into the East Sea. However, with its super strong intensity, super typhoon Bavi will also affect the weather in the East Sea in the coming days.
On the night of July 9 and July 10, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Vinh Long, south of the central East Sea area, the South East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7 - 8. Sea is rough, waves are 2-3m high.
In addition, the area of the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the east of the central East Sea area, the South East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) have scattered showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
From the afternoon of July 10, the eastern part of the Northern East Sea will gradually have strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7 - 8. Sea is rough, waves are 2 - 4m high.
On the night of July 10 and July 11, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, the Central and Southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) has strong southwest winds of level 6, gusts of level 7 - 8; waves are 2 - 4m high; rough seas.
The eastern sea area of the Northern East Sea area has West to Southwest winds of level 6 - 7, gusts of level 8 - 9; sea waves 3 - 5m high; strong rough seas.
The western sea area of the Northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa special zone) has strong West to Southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7 - 8; waves are 2 - 4m high; rough seas.
The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and large waves.
