According to the latest news released at 2:05 p.m. from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, through monitoring on satellite images, thunderstorm location data and weather radar, it was discovered that convective clouds were developing and causing rain in the areas of Chuong My, Dan Phuong, My Duc, Thanh Oai, Phu Xuyen, Phuc Tho, Quoc Oai, Thach That, Ung Hoa, and were moving and expanding to the inner city of Hanoi.
In the next 30 minutes to 3 hours, this cloud area will cause rain in the above areas, then spread to other districts in the inner city of Hanoi. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
The meteorological agency warns that the risk of natural disasters due to tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.
According to Mr. Mai Van Khiem - Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (Department of Hydro-Meteorology), in the North during the changing seasons, when there is a dispute between a weak cold air mass from the north and a hot air mass.
The conflict between these air masses makes the atmosphere unstable, easily accompanied by strong thunderstorms accompanied by gusts of wind, lightning, and hail.
One of the characteristics of thunderstorms during the changing seasons is their rapid development, often occurring in a narrow range but with high intensity; associated with the risk of flash floods and landslides.
People should closely monitor weather warnings to prevent and have timely prevention plans.
