The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting forecasts that from September 21 to 22, a low pressure trough with an axis passing through the North East Sea area is likely to form. This low pressure area can directly affect the North East Sea area (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago) and the Gulf of Tonkin.
Currently, the North and Central East Sea, the western sea of the South East Sea (including the waters of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos), from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand have heavy rain and thunderstorms.
In Phu Quy and Song Tu Tay, there are strong gusts of wind level 7 - 8; Phu Quoc has strong winds level 6, gusts level 8.
On the night of September 21 and September 22, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Binh Thuan, the east of the North East Sea, the central East Sea area has strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9. The sea is rough, waves are 2 - 4m high.
Gulf of Tonkin, sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang, Gulf of Thailand, North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago) and the middle East Sea have showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind level 7 - 8.
The north of the South China Sea (including the Spratly Islands) has strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, level 7 - 8. Dynamic sea, waves from 1.5 - 3m high.
Early morning and on September 22, the Gulf of Tonkin had strong winds of level 6; on the afternoon of September 21, the wind sometimes reached level 7, gusting to level 8. The sea was rough; waves were 2-3m high.
On the night of September 22 and September 23, in the Gulf of Tonkin, strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8; rough seas; waves 2 - 3.5m high.
The North East Sea area (including the waters of Hoang Sa archipelago) has strong southwest winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9; rough seas; waves 2 - 4m high.
The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ninh Thuan and the Central East Sea area has strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7; rough seas; waves 2 - 3m high.
The meteorological agency warned that the risk of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is level 2.
All vessels operating in the above areas will be at high risk of being affected by cyclones, strong winds and large waves.
