The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the weather in the Northern region, including Hanoi capital, during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday will change due to cold air.
Hanoi area on February 16th (ie December 29th), the weather has not changed; generally with light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered. Sunny in the afternoon, warm weather with the highest temperature around 25 - 27 degrees C.
From the night of February 16th, Hanoi will have rain, scattered light rain due to the cold air starting to have initial impacts. The night and morning will be cold with the lowest temperature around 19 - 21 degrees Celsius.
On February 17 (ie, the 1st day of Tet), Hanoi will have rain and scattered light rain and this situation may last until February 19 (3rd day of Tet). On February 17, the highest temperature is commonly around 20 - 23 degrees Celsius.
However, it will not be until the night of February 17 that the temperature will change when the cold air strengthens further. The weather will turn cold with the lowest temperature around 17 - 19 degrees Celsius.
From February 20 - 22 (from the 4th to the 6th day of Tet), the weather is more stable, the temperature tends to gradually increase. Hanoi has light rain in some places, morning fog and light fog scattered. Cold at night and early morning with the lowest temperature about 18 - 20 degrees C. During this period, the highest temperature is about 23 - 26 degrees C; especially on February 20 (ie, the 4th day of Tet), the highest is about 22 - 24 degrees C.
