Pork farm torments residential area
Mr. Bui Van Dong's house is only a few hundred meters from Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Que's pig farm. Recently, Mr. Dong's family has had to live with the stench of pig manure.
According to Mr. Dong, when the pig farm washes the barns or has sudden rain, the stench is terrible and no one can stand it.
The family has 2 young children who are going to school, studying at night but the stench is so strong that they can't concentrate on studying.
"I hope the local government will soon inspect and handle it to restore a clean environment for us" - Mr. Dong said.
Not only affecting the lives of local people, but the pollution from the pig farm also affects the two driving training centers of Ba Thien and Truong Son next to it.
Ms. Doan Thi Hong Hai - owner of the booth at Truong Son Driving Training Center - said that the booth was only about 500m from the pig farm, so it was seriously affected.
Especially at noon when the wind blows towards the newsroom, the stench is strong. Therefore, at this time, both teachers and students go elsewhere and do not dare to eat or rest.
Mr. Nguyen The Phiet - Director of Truong Son Driving Training Center - reflected that the stench from the pig farm is terrible, affecting the training activities of the unit.
For many months, we have received feedback from teachers and trainees about the foul smell of this pig farm every day.
"We have reported the pollution situation to the People's Committee of Loc Nga commune and hope the government and competent authorities will soon handle it thoroughly" - Mr. Phiet said.

Unlicensed pig farm
According to the leader of Loc Nga Commune People's Committee, Ms. Que's pig farm has been renovated and upgraded from a pet farm.
After switching to raising pigs, Ms. Que's family submitted a license application but it has not been approved by the Commune People's Committee.
However, in early December 2024, the farm was still in operation with a scale of about 300 pigs. Although they have only raised the first batch of pigs for more than 4 months, the environmental pollution from this farm has made local people extremely upset.
Based on the people's reflection, the local government and the authorities have conducted a preliminary inspection of the pig farm of Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Que's family.
According to the authorities, the biogas tunnel system of the pig farm is not working, so the treatment of waste and wastewater must be done manually.
Initially, the authorities have drawn up a record of the actual operation of the pig farm and requested the farm owner to overcome the pollution.
Mr. Luu Huong Quan - Vice Chairman of Loc Nga Commune People's Committee - added that all information that people reported about the pollution caused by Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Que's pig farm was well-founded and well-founded.
The commune has invited the pig farm owner to work to handle the situation. This is the first batch of pigs and will leave the cage in about half a month. Therefore, the pig farm owner promised to fix it after issuing the pigs.
"In case the farm does not meet the requirements and regulations on environmental protection, the locality will request to stop operations to ensure people's lives" - Mr. Quan said.
