Spreading green action from artificial intelligence
On the afternoon of June 6, in Dong Hoi city (Quang Binh province), the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment coordinated with the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, the Nhan Dan Newspaper Media Center, and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Binh province to organize a workshop on " application of AI in Cultural, Environmental and Tourism Journalism and Development of Sea Tourism".
The event has special significance, both in response to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, World Ocean Day (6. 8), and towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 2525 - June 21, 2025). More than 100 delegates representing central agencies, coastal provinces, technology experts, journalists, tourism businesses and press agencies attended.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Minh Ngan emphasized: " applying artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism and communication is a strategic direction, helping to innovate community approaches, improve policy communication efficiency, orient public opinion and spread green actions for the environment".
The Deputy Minister called for strengthening the connection of creative communities, journalists, technologists, businesses and people through digital platforms applying AI to form a modern, humane communication ecosystem, contributing to protecting the blue sea, preserving cultural identity and enhancing the position of a strong sea nation in the new era.
Connecting technology - journalism - community
At the workshop, Dr. Dao Xuan Hung - Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Magazine said that the workshop was an opportunity for journalists, managers, technology experts and businesses to exchange experiences, propose solutions and expand cooperation in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to produce press content, preserve marine culture, communicate about ocean plastic waste and develop sustainable marine tourism.

Notably, within the framework of the seminar, the photo exhibition "Action for blue ocean" has opened with more than 70 printed works and 52 digital works (Code QR), vividly reflect the beauty of the sea and islands, fishermen's life, the impact of people on the marine ecosystem and marine cultural conservation initiatives in Quang Binh and many coastal localities.
Immediately after the exhibition opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee launched the " Journalism with Vietnamese Sea and Islands" Contest, a creative and humane playground for journalists, photographers and citizens who love the sea nationwide. The contest opens a portal to receive entries from June 6, 2025 to June 31, 2026 at: https://nnmt.net.vn.
The workshop not only creates a bridge between journalists and the technology world, but also sends a strong message: "Green Sea - Clean Technology - Innovation Communications". In the context of climate change, plastic pollution and depletion of marine resources threatening sustainable development, communication plays a pioneering role in changing social awareness and behavior.
At the same time, with the application of AI in journalism and communication, the Vietnamese press industry is facing the opportunity to strongly rise in terms of technology, content and influence, contributing to affirming the position of a coastal nation in the digital age.
