On December 30, information from the Bac Ninh Provincial Electronic Information Portal said that currently, the Thuan Thanh town waste-to-energy plant (Bac Ninh province) is receiving and processing waste for 37 enterprises and paper production facilities in Phong Khe ward (Bac Ninh city) and Phu Lam Industrial Cluster (Tien Du district) - 2 black spots of pollution in the province.
From May 2024 to present, the factory has received and processed more than 4,337 tons of waste, sludge, ash and other waste from the above 37 enterprises.
Waste is thoroughly treated without affecting the environment.
Phong Khe paper craft village and Phu Lam Industrial Cluster have long been considered two black spots of pollution in Bac Ninh province.
Wastewater from these two areas is identified as the main cause of heavy pollution in the Cau River.
In recent times, Bac Ninh province has taken many drastic actions and has basically completed the treatment of pollution sources in the above two areas. In Phong Khe ward, hundreds of paper production facilities in residential areas have had to stop operating.
Receiving and treating waste from businesses and paper production facilities in Phong Khe ward and Phu Lam Industrial Park will contribute to reducing the amount of waste generated, gradually thoroughly treating the remaining waste, and moving towards cleaning the environment here.
Thuan Thanh town's waste-to-energy plant is jointly invested by Thuan Thanh Environment Joint Stock Company and JFE Company - Japan with a total investment of more than 1,700 billion VND; capacity of 500 tons/day and night, power generation capacity of 11 - 13 MW.
Trial operation since January 2024, the plant is currently receiving and processing waste in Bac Ninh city, Tu Son city, Thuan Thanh town and Tien Du district.
