On July 28, the Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee issued an official dispatch requesting urgent inspection of the reality, clearly identifying the causes to thoroughly handle the existing problems on Son Tra Peninsula.
Functional forces will organize a general environmental sanitation campaign on all roads, sightseeing spots, and stops. Waste collection and transportation will be increased in frequency. At the same time, review and install additional public trash cans at suitable locations to serve tourists. Arrange forces to regularly inspect and supervise in "sensitive" areas - places where waste is frequently generated or tourists are concentrated, resolutely preventing the formation of environmental pollution hotspots, loss of security and order or damage to urban aesthetics.
Periodic and unscheduled inspections, strict handling according to legal regulations for acts: littering indiscriminately, spontaneous trading, encroachment on sightseeing spots, soliciting, clinging to or forcing tourists to use services. For illegal business locations in Son Tra Peninsula, functional agencies will resolutely clear them. All business households in the area must sign commitments not to litter, not to solicit tourists and not to do illegal business.
The Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee emphasized that the Chairman of Son Tra Ward People's Committee will be directly responsible to the Chairman of the City People's Committee if environmental pollution, spontaneous business, and soliciting tourists occur or recur, affecting the image of Son Tra Peninsula within the management scope.
Coordinating forces will strengthen fire prevention and fighting, rescue and security and order throughout the peninsula. Local authorities will coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review and install additional dangerous warning signs on tourist routes, especially notices requesting people and tourists to absolutely not feed monkeys when sightseeing and picnics to protect the natural ecosystem and ensure safety for tourists.
Business establishments, points of sale, travel agencies and tourists should limit the use of disposable plastic products, difficult-to-decompose nylon bags, and prioritize using environmentally friendly products. Da Nang will receive feedback and publicize hotlines for people and tourists to promptly inform about violations, helping functional forces handle them quickly and maintain the Son Tra tourism brand as green - clean - beautiful.
