With the simple but profound motto "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", student Le Tan Hieu (22 years old, FPT University Can Tho) has the desire to contribute to the youth that has been marked when establishing a volunteer club called "Green leaves", to support the disadvantaged in society, especially towards poor students in remote areas.
Hieu shared that the green in "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" is not only the color of youth, of enthusiasm, but also a symbol of vitality, of faith in a bright future. It is that spirit that has urged "green" friends, hearts in harmony to share, towards those in difficult circumstances in the community.

Since its inception, Hieu's Club has chosen a humane model of activities that is to raise funds from the products made by the students themselves, including cakes, packages of sticky dried fruits, bottles of refreshing soft drinks. The proceeds from self-sales self-made products have become a resource for the Club to be able to hand over warm meals and essential necessities to disadvantaged people and patients struggling with illness.
Hieu confided that he was inspired to do charity work by his parents, and right from the first moment he entered university, he participated in charity activities.
At the time of the COVID-19 outbreak, I realized that there were many people in need of help. From there, I established a volunteer club to share my youth and finances with you in difficult circumstances, Hieu said.

Not stopping there, the Club also actively organizes fundraising sales activities right at universities, spreading the spirit of mutual love to a large number of students.
Every year, the Club organizes visits to orphanage centers for orphans and children infected with Agent Orange - dioxin, visits nursing homes for the elderly and children without shelter, gives gifts to the poor... Along with that, the Club is still maintaining the activity of giving "Zero-dong meals" to homeless people at least once a month, and up to now, more than 10,000 meals have been given away.
The club also regularly donates about 30 million VND (from 1 to 2 months/time) to organize gift giving programs, build clothing stalls, stuffed animals, and entertainment for poor students in remote areas; at the same time, give 50 scholarships to poor students, each worth 500,000 VND, Hieu said.
As an official member of the Club, Nguyen Ky Phuc (student of Can Tho University) proudly said: When joining the Club, I got close to difficult circumstances. Through that, I feel lucky more than many people and aware of the need to live well, contribute more to the community and society".

In early 2023, the Green Volunteer Club was recognized by the National Volunteer Center as a member project. Up to now, the club has more than 30 official members and more than 200 volunteers. Hieu's "Good leaves" and his club is still going on and showing the strength of solidarity and compassion in the community.
