On January 25, the Traffic Police Department, Can Tho City Police, coordinated with relevant units to disseminate legal regulations on traffic safety and order, and distribute free mineral water, cold towels, and banh mi to people on their way home for Tet.
At the intersection of the Vam Cong bridge approach and the Can Tho bridge approach, the authorities distributed 3,700 bottles of mineral water, 3,000 cold towels and 500 banh mi loaves to support people on the country road to celebrate Tet.
The gifts, though small, are full of humane meaning, showing the care and sharing of the police force with the people on their journey to reunite with their families.
Authorities distributed 2,700 leaflets promoting Government Decree 168. This Decree replaces Decree 100 with many notable new points in handling road traffic violations.
The most notable new feature of Decree 168 is the increase in fines for many traffic violations, especially dangerous violations such as drinking alcohol while participating in traffic, running red lights, not wearing helmets, driving in the wrong direction, driving on the sidewalk, etc.
In addition, Decree 168 also has a notable new point, which is the amendment and supplementation of regulations on point deduction and point restoration of driving licenses. The point deduction mechanism will be stricter, helping to increase deterrence for violators.
By directly propagating at high traffic points, Can Tho City Police hope to raise people's awareness, help them be more aware of obeying traffic laws, and contribute to reducing accidents during the peak of Tet holiday.
These activities not only help ensure traffic safety and order but also demonstrate the sense of responsibility of the Can Tho City Police force in accompanying people to welcome a peaceful and safe Spring with family and loved ones.
