On the 30th of Tet, people still crowded to enjoy spring, crossing the winding Violac pass on the mountainside to Mang Den, Kon Plong district.
Located at an altitude of 1,200m above sea level, Mang Den national eco-tourism area has a temperate climate all year round.
On the days before Tet, the cold air makes the cherry blossoms bloom, the brilliant colors of the flowers decorate the poetic Dam Bri lake, Mang Den square and the green pine road leading to the mountain town.
Ms. Mai Thi Linh - a resident of Pleiku city - shared: "Although Pleiku's climate is mild, it is still very difficult to grow cherry blossoms, hydrangeas or French roses to make them bloom beautifully. Therefore, my family drove more than 70 km to Mang Den to admire cherry blossoms, a flower species that is only suitable and grows in cold regions."
In Mang Den, tourists flock to the Virgin Mary statue to pray for peace and happiness in the new year. Afterwards, people with their families and friends go to the cherry blossom-lined streets to take souvenir photos.
Mang Den stands out with its old green pine forests and pink cherry blossoms, creating a typical landscape of the cold region.
Cherry blossoms contribute to the reputation of Kon Tum's famous tourist destination. Pine forests regulate the climate, combined with dense fog, bringing a slow and peaceful pace of life, helping visitors on the 30th of Tet easily immerse themselves in poetic nature.
Mr. Tran Lanh - a resident of Kon Tum city - shared: "This year, after preparing for the New Year, my family drove to enjoy the beautiful scenery after a year of hard work.
The family's spring trip started from the mountains and forests towards the sea, passing through destinations such as Mang Den, Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Ghenh Da Dia, Mui Dien (Phu Yen), then going up National Highway 19 or 26 to return to the Central Highlands.
Regarding this famous place, in August 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation visited and worked in Kon Plong district.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the development of Mang Den National Tourist Area must be consistent with the green, sustainable and inclusive development orientation of the entire Kon Tum province.
Mang Den development must be green, circular, digital economy, sharing economy, following the motto "forest in the city; city in the forest"...
