According to the Ministry of Public Security's electronic information portal, Tuyen Quang Provincial Police said that Meo Vac Commune Police recently promptly extinguished a fire and supported the relocation of more than 20 foreign tourists out of the fire area at Meo Vac Clay House 2 guesthouse (Meo Vac commune) on the morning of March 19, 2026.
Accordingly, at about 8:15 am on March 19, Meo Vac Commune Police received a fire report at group 2 (Meo Vac commune). Immediately, the Commune Police urgently deployed forces and vehicles to the scene; coordinated with Traffic Police Team No. 14 Meo Vac, and at the same time advised the Party Committee and local authorities to mobilize local forces to coordinate firefighting.
At the scene, it was determined that the fire area was on the 5th floor, the place used to dry clothes, blankets, sheets, and pillows of the guesthouse, at the time of the fire there were 95 tourists staying at the guesthouse. Functional forces quickly approached, deployed forces and vehicles to extinguish the fire. At the same time, encouraged, reassured, guided, and supported stranded tourists to escape and move out of the smoke-contaminated area.
Thanks to quick and effective handling, by about 8:30 am on the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, preventing it from spreading to surrounding areas. The fire did not cause any casualties. The initial cause was determined to be an electrical equipment failure. Functional agencies are checking and clarifying.

Through verification, Mai Chau Commune Police (Phu Tho province) recently found the owner and organized the return of lost property to foreigners, contributing to ensuring security and order and contributing to creating a good impression of the local image in the hearts of tourists.
Previously, Mai Chau Commune Police received a mobile phone picked up by Ms. Dinh Thi Van (residing in Chieng Sai Residential Group) and voluntarily handed it over. Immediately after receiving it, the Commune Police force proceeded to verify and clarify information related to property and owner.
Through professional measures, the police agency determined that the phone belonged to Mr. Regnauld Charles (French nationality) who dropped it while moving in the area.
After full verification, Mai Chau Commune Police contacted Mr. Regnauld Charles to organize the return of property in accordance with regulations. At the return ceremony, tourists expressed their joy and thanked the police force as well as people for supporting the search for lost property.
