On May 15, Tuyen Binh Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that it had just organized a conference to commend and reward individuals with courageous achievements in rescuing people drowning on the Gianh River.
Previously, at noon on February 19, a family of 7 people residing in Tan Hoa village, Tuyen Binh commune, traveling by small boat across the Gianh River to celebrate Tet unfortunately encountered an accident. The incident killed 4 people, and 3 others were rescued thanks to the timely rescue of Mr. Cao Huu Tinh and his son.
At the conference, representatives of Tuyen Binh Commune People's Committee announced the Prime Minister's Decision on awarding Certificates of Merit to Mr. Cao Huu Tinh, residing in Truong Long village, Tan Gianh commune and Cao Hoang An Duc, a student of class 10A7, Le Truc High School.
Mr. Cao Huu Tinh and his son were commended for their courageous action in rescuing a drowning person on the Gianh River in the civil boat capsizing incident that occurred at noon on the 3rd day of Tet.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Tuyen Binh Commune People's Committee emphasized that the Prime Minister's awarding of Certificates of Merit to Mr. Cao Huu Tinh and his son is a worthy recognition for the courageous act of saving people.
According to the leader of Tuyen Binh Commune People's Committee, the gesture of Mr. Tinh and his daughter not only shows the spirit of responsibility and courage in a dangerous situation but also contributes to spreading the spirit of compassion and mutual affection in the community.
