Blood products are a "special medicine
Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Quang, Director of Hospital 19-8 said: As people directly involved in clinical treatment, we always understand a harsh truth, no matter how modern medicine is, science cannot yet synthesize or artificially produce blood itself.
Blood products are a "special medicine", whose only source of supply can come from the kind hearts of healthy people.
Currently, 19-8 Hospital is entering a spearhead development phase, promoting the deployment of advanced and specialized techniques such as: stem cell transplantation, cardiovascular intervention, complex surgical surgery... aiming to meet the standards to become a special-class hospital before 2030.
This means that the requirement for a blood supply source, blood products not only sufficient in quantity, but also absolutely safe and meeting quality standards is becoming more urgent than ever. The lives of our comrades when unfortunately injured, or patients struggling with dangerous diseases, are sometimes only held by units of blood transfused in time," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Quang shared.
The Director of 19-8 Hospital expressed gratitude for the companionship and great contributions of units in the People's Police force who participated in blood donation to spread the movement "Drops of blood of gratitude for beloved comrades" widely to all officers and soldiers throughout the force.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Quang affirmed that the officers and soldiers not only provide a large amount of blood, but also accompany Hospital 19-8 to pioneer in innovating the model of blood donation from dependence on professional blood sellers, becoming one of the leading units in converting 100% of the blood source used for emergency and treatment from voluntary blood donors.

Immediately after the honoring ceremony was the voluntary blood donation activity at Hospital 19-8, attracting a large number of officers and soldiers, CAND students and the team of doctors and nurses of Hospital 19-8, contributing hundreds more safe blood units to the hospital's precious reserve blood tank.
