Speaking with Lao Dong on the night of September 9, Mr. Bui Van Trieu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Son commune - said that local people had just sent 12 boats operating at Huong Pagoda to support Thai Nguyen.
The leader said that this was a small, personal support activity. Accordingly, the members of the group of self-propelled crane drivers and rescue vehicles in the district and in Thai Nguyen have a close relationship. Therefore, when they learned about the flooding situation in Thai Nguyen, the members of the group mobilized the boats operating at Huong Pagoda to support.
"On the night of September 9, 4 self-propelled cranes moved to Thai Nguyen to support. Each truck carried 3 boats. A total of 12 boats" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Son commune informed.
According to the Thai Nguyen Hydrometeorological Station, at Gia Bay hydrological station, at 7:00 p.m. on September 9, the flood water level was at 2.87m, 171cm above alert level 3; at Cha hydrological station, the water level was at 0.89m, 0.92m above alert level 1.
During the night of September 9, flood on Cau River continued to rise slowly, with the possibility of reaching its peak.
At Gia Bay hydrological station, the flood peak is likely to be 2.89m, 190cm higher than alert level 3; at Cha hydrological station, the flood peak is likely to reach above alert level 3 on the night of September 10. The reason for the flood water on Cau River continuing to rise is due to water flowing from the upstream area (Bac Kan province and mountainous districts of Thai Nguyen province).
The rising flood water level of the Cau River has caused deep flooding, affecting traffic and the lives of many residential areas living along the two banks of the Cau River in Dong Hy and Phu Binh districts, Pho Yen city and Thai Nguyen city.
In particular, Thai Nguyen city area was the most heavily flooded, about 3 thousand households in 22 wards and communes were flooded; nearly 1,000 hectares of rice, crops, and fruit trees were downed and submerged in water...
In addition, flood water from the Cau River also caused localized flooding on some inter-district and city-based traffic routes, causing traffic disruption.
Authorities have banned all people and vehicles from passing through Gia Bay, Ben Tuong and Ben Oanh bridges. Rescue operations are still being carried out 24/7 by authorities at all levels, focusing on checking households in flooded areas, ensuring food, drinking water and communication for households, activating all "4 on-site" plans, with the highest priority being ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, and resolutely evacuating households at risk of insecurity.
