Currently, on many streets in Hanoi, there are still a series of uprooted and broken trees waiting to be relocated.
According to Lao Dong, on September 14, many areas and streets in Hanoi were in a state of devastation, with fallen trees and piles of debris after storm No. 3 waiting to be collected and processed.Cleaning up the environment and collecting fallen trees is an urgent need to soon bring people's lives back to normal and ensure smooth traffic. On Tan Ap street (Phuc Xa ward, Ba Dinh district), there are many garbage collection points, mainly consisting of fallen trees.Ms. Vu Thu Hang (residing in Tan Ap) said that many tree trunks and branches have large diameters, so people cannot move them themselves but can only gather them together for convenience in the collection process. However, this also greatly affects the daily life and business activities of the people.“Tree trunks with too large diameters fell right in front of houses, blocking the way for people to move, causing potential safety risks and disease risks after storms and floods,” Ms. Hang said worriedly.People hope that the collection points for fallen trees and garbage will soon be processed so that they can return to normal life.Meanwhile, at the intersection of Quan Su and Tran Hung Dao streets, a series of fallen trees that blocked the road for many days, affecting households, agencies and businesses, have now begun to be cut into smaller pieces and relocated.Workers try to trim broken and fallen trees and mobilize cranes on Quan Su Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District.Meanwhile, in Dong Da district, forces including youth volunteers, residents, and civil defense forces are working hard to fix problems in areas affected by the storm and urgently clear fallen trees and broken branches left on streets and roads in the area.According to the report of Hanoi Department of Construction, as of September 13, there were over 40 thousand fallen trees and broken branches in Hanoi. Of these, 13,615 urban trees were broken and fell. More than 26,300 trees managed by districts, towns and cities and trees in urban areas were broken and fell. There are currently 3,082 trees replanted (250 trees have been re-erected, 2,600 trees have had their crowns cut and are waiting to be re-erected, and 232 trees have not had their tops cut for re-planting).Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee - Duong Duc Tuan requested functional units to speed up the progress of pruning broken and fallen trees and moving them to areas to ensure traffic safety and order; mobilize maximum forces and means to organize the collection and replanting of fallen trees that can be reused... The remedial work must be completed by September 25 at the latest.
On the same day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi also launched a movement for the entire population to participate in general environmental sanitation and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3. Immediately after the launching ceremony, the government, organizations and people of Hanoi took to the streets to clean up and collect garbage on all the streets of the capital.
