Admire the centuries-old green heritage trees in Thai Binh

Dau tien la hai cay bang co thu nam trong khuon vien den Con Giang (xa Son Ha, huyen Thai Thuy, tinh Thai Binh) la cap cay di san hon 400 nam tuoi.

First is a pair of ancient banyan trees located in the grounds of Con Giang Temple (Son Ha Commune, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh Province) - a national historical relic worshiping the famous person Quach Huu Nghiem, a famous mandarin of the Later Le Dynasty.

These two banyan trees are about 400 years old, have a diameter of about 2.5 - 2.7m and are 25m high.

Next are two longan trees and a fig tree hundreds of years old, in the premises of the national historical and cultural relic Hai Thon temple (in Phuong Tao village, Xuan Hoa commune, Vu Thu district) recognized as heritage trees since 2016.

Trai qua hang tram nam tuoi, den nay, ca 2 co thu hien deu van tuoi tot, canh la sum sue, tao nen canh quan co kinh cho ngoi mieu.

Mr. Do Van Manh (Xuan Hoa commune, Vu Thu district) said that according to the elders in the village, these two heritage trees were built at the same time as Hai Thon temple, about 300 years ago. Currently, both trees are lush, with luxuriant branches and leaves, creating an ancient landscape for the temple.

In the photo is a pair of banyan trees that have existed for more than 700 years, at Phuc Son Pagoda (Dong Thanh Commune, Vu Thu District).

Two ancient banyan trees are located on both sides of the main temple. According to preserved documents, the two banyan trees were planted in the year Canh Thin 1348. The roots are rough, the branches are curved like flying dragons, dancing phoenixes, the foliage covers the 9 steps going up and down.

After 700 years, the pair of ancient banyan trees are still lush, and when they bloom, their flowers turn the yard white.

Nguoi dan dia phuong cho biet, hai cay dai co thu ton tai phong tran vuot qua bao tap va chung kien bao doi thay cua que huong chung toi, nam 2014, cap cay dai nay duoc cong nhan duoc la cay di san Viet Nam.

According to local people, the two ancient banyan trees have survived storms and witnessed many changes in Dong Thanh homeland. In 2014, these two banyan trees were recognized as Vietnamese heritage trees.
