Traders reduce prices to attract buyers at flower market on 29th of Tet

In the last days of the year, many peach blossom markets on the streets of Thai Nguyen City are still bustling with people coming to choose peach branches to display for Tet.

At the peach blossom market on Doi Can Street, Trung Vuong Ward, Thai Nguyen City, hundreds of traders and people from all over the province and city come to gather, creating a bright and joyful spring atmosphere.

According to the reporter's records on the 29th of Tet, many peach blossom markets in Thai Nguyen City were still bustling with shoppers. They hoped to choose a satisfactory peach blossom tree to bring home to display for Tet.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (Cam Gia Ward, Thai Nguyen City) shared that her family brought more than 100 peach blossom and peach blossom trees to sell. Compared to 2024, the number of customers this year is quite steady, with stable buyers.

"This year, the main preference is peach branches because they are cheap, only a few hundred thousand dong, and easy to carry. About 3 days before Tet is the time when customers come the most, so far I have sold more than half. On the last day, I and many others also reduced the price to sell all the trees in time, recover capital and move early to celebrate Tet with their families," said Ms. Hong.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bao, a long-time trader at the flower market, also said that reducing prices at the end of the year is a way to attract buyers, especially when the purchasing power will slow down as the day gets closer.

"On the last day of the year, although purchasing power is high, customers still have many options, so the prices must be very competitive. The discount will help us sell faster, and customers can also choose beautiful peach trees and branches that fit their budget," Mr. Bao added.

Large peach trees priced from 1,000,000 VND to over 2,000,000 VND are also discounted by retailers from several hundred thousand to millions of VND to stimulate demand.
