Fireworks display in Ho Chi Minh City ready to welcome the Year of the Snake

On New Year's Eve to welcome the New Year of the Snake 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will set off fireworks at 15 locations, including 2 high-altitude locations and the rest low-altitude locations.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nhiem - Head of the Weapons Department, Ho Chi Minh City Command said that for high-altitude fireworks, the preparation work took 2 days. "Yesterday (January 27), we arranged the rig, barrel and wire. Today, we combined the ammunition and connected the ammunition to the artillery rig. The soldiers had to stay up from 2am to march with the vehicles to the ammunition receiving location in Thu Duc City, then move to the locations to organize fireworks displays in the area. It is expected that by 3pm today, the preparation work will be completed, ready to serve the people of Ho Chi Minh City on New Year's Eve."

Low-altitude fireworks displays were transported and installed at 13 locations in Ho Chi Minh City.

High-altitude fireworks come in many types and sizes, and after being connected to an electric ignition wire, are inserted into the fireworks tube.

After the high-altitude fireworks are loaded into the tube, the electric ignition wires are connected to the control rod. This is one of the last steps in assembling the fireworks.

While assembling the cannon, soldiers must strictly follow safety rules such as not smoking, using mobile phones, lighters or other objects that create sparks or electricity.

Fireworks will be launched from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 29, 2025.

In addition to the spectacular fireworks display, Ho Chi Minh City also organizes many cultural and artistic activities to welcome the New Year of the Snake 2025, starting from 8:00 p.m. on January 28, 2025 (29th of Tet) to 0:30 a.m. on January 29, 2025 (early morning of the first day of Tet).
