The national relic of Tien La Temple is the place to worship Bat Nan Dong Nhung Dai Tuong Quan Vu Thi Thuc - a female general under the reign of Hai Ba Trung who had the merit of protecting the country and protecting the people against invaders. The temple was built on the sacred and mysterious land of Kim Quy hill, creating a resonance and convergence of humanistic values in the worship of the Holy Mother of the Vietnamese people.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper, on January 30 (the second day of Tet), thousands of tourists came to the sacred temple in Thai Binh to visit, burn incense, pray for luck and ask for fortune cards for the new year.
Ms. Bui Thi Nui (35 years old, in Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province) said: "For more than 10 years, my family has been going to Tien La temple to pray and ask for fortune cards at the beginning of the new year. This ancient temple has been associated with the people around our area for generations. The temple grounds are spacious, the space is peaceful and airy."
Also drawing the first card of the year with his family, Mr. Pham Van Tuan (Hung Ha district) could not hide the joy on his face when he just drew a good card. Mr. Tuan shared: "Drawing cards to pray for peace is a custom that has been preserved by our people for a long time and has become a beautiful cultural feature every time Tet and Spring come. This year, I drew a very good card but still asked the master to explain more, to resolve some problems...".
Not only crowded in the temple yard, inside, many people also lined up to get fortune cards for the New Year.
