Lao Cai advances 293 billion VND to resettle railway projects

Lao Cai - The locality will advance more than 293 billion VND to carry out 16 projects to build resettlement areas to serve the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.

On April 3, information from the Lao Cai Department of Construction said that on April 5, the Railway Project Management Board and the consulting unit are expected to work with the province to agree on the contents of site clearance, striving to complete the approval of the Feasibility Study Report in August 2025.

To facilitate the direction and coordination in resolving important tasks related to project implementation, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province has issued a decision to complete the Working Group to implement the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line (section through Lao Cai province).

Based on the preliminary site clearance boundary documents provided by the Railway Project Management Board, the Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches, sectors and localities to urgently deploy related tasks such as: Setting boundaries for project implementation out of the field (about more than 1,500 points); organizing measurement, extraction, and adjustment of cadastral maps.

By April 15, 2025, localities (Lao Cai city, districts: Van Ban, Bao Yen, Bao Thang) will complete the measurement and determination of the site clearance scope of the project through Lao Cai province.

However, due to changes in the route plan, the work of measuring and counting land and crop assets has now been temporarily suspended.

Regarding resettlement work, on March 20, 2025, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province issued a document agreeing on the list of resettlement projects to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line and assigned localities to carry out investment preparation work.

Of which, there are 16 projects to build resettlement areas with a total investment of more than 293 billion VND; temporary capital using the provincial budget is supplemented with a target for the local budget (the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction will return from the central budget to arrange compensation, support and resettlement for the project).
