More than half a year has passed after floods caused by storm No. 3, Lao Cai City's traffic infrastructure has gradually been restored. However, many areas of people's houses were still seriously affected.
On September 23, in Pom Han ward, Lao Cai city, dozens of houses have cracks and broken lines, with the risk of landslides lurking in the lives of many households.

On April 3, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on September 23, many houses of people are in a state of cracked foundations, broken fences, and damaged brick yards and gates. Even the outside of the traffic road has seen a phenomenon of prolonged subsidence and cracking.
Faced with the risk of landslides, to ensure safety of life, 31 households in this area were forced to evacuate. For the past month, dozens of families have had to rent a room, while others have temporarily stayed at the cultural house of the residential area of the ward.

Taking reporters to see the cracked conditions of houses in alleys, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Pmem Han ward, Lao Cai city) sadly said: "For about 7 months, dozens of households on our route 23.9 have had to move to the ward's cultural house to temporarily live. During the day, we go home to look after the house, and go back to sleep at night.
After storm No. 3, many houses along this road appeared to have sunk and cracked brick walls, threatening people's lives".

Mr. Kieu Chi Tai (Group 15, Pom Han Ward) shared: "Our people's lives were greatly affected by the storm and flood. But because of the need to protect their lives, they had to move to a safe place, and return during the day to look after their property."
According to Mr. Tai, after storm No. 3, dozens of households on the 23.9 road axis were affected and their lives were at risk of landslides. However, households still hope to overcome this situation to return to normal life.

Recently, many households here have been supported by the government with 3-6 months of rent and temporary accommodation at cultural houses.
Also on the relocation list, Ms. Do Thi Thu said: "Because the cultural house is also small, I live alone, so I have given it to other families, and I myself have temporarily stayed at relatives' houses. We hope the city will quickly deploy an anti-landslide embankment before the storm season so that people can return home soon."
Faced with the above situation, in early April 2025, Lao Cai province issued a document declaring a natural disaster emergency in Pom Han ward, Lao Cai city due to the risk of landslides for 31 households.

The People's Committee of Lao Cai province assigned the city to implement measures to ensure security, order and the lives of people in areas affected by natural disasters in the process of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
According to information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai City, currently, to soon stabilize the lives of the people, the locality is preparing to deploy anti-landslide embankment items in groups 13, 14, 15 in Pom Han ward with a budget of 50 billion VND. The project will be constructed and completed from April to August 2025.
