CNN introduced these beautiful artificial swimming pools, from Avalon Rock in Australia to fairyland swimming pools in Cornwall, UK, through the book Sea Pools: 66 Saltwater Sanctuaries From Around the World by Chris Romer-Lee.
The book has photos of more than 60 impressive swimming pools at sea around the world.
Chris Romer-Lee shared: I especially like photos taken on rainy and stormy days. They really feel like they are being held in arms by nature".
In addition to swimming pools from all over the world, Chris Romer-Lee's book also delves into the architecture and history of swimming pools at sea.
Romer-Lee's passion for swimming in the ocean was aroused during his vacation with his family in Switzerland a decade ago. Inspired by his experience swimming in Zurich Lake, Romer-Lee founded Thames Baths - a campaign to build a swimming pool on the Thames River in London.
Studio Octopi - an architectural firm co-founded by Romer-Lee - is also a part of this passion. The company has restored tidal lakes in Scotland and designed a lake in cumbria, UK, in recent years.
According to CNN, in preparation for the book about swimming pools around the world, Romer-Lee spent hours on Google Maps, scanning the coastline around the world to find the most typical examples of swimming pools at sea. Since then, he has approached photographers who have taken photos of those locations through Instagram.
