In Vietnam, "Remembering the Family" was translated into Vietnamese by translator Ha Mai Anh, and later translated by translator Nguyen Bich Hang under the name "The Sinking Life" by Ro-manh Can-bri.
Both translations were released to readers more than 30 years ago, with some improvisation and some minor errors. This time, translator Le Dinh Chi translated the entire text from the original French. In particular, the edition is illustrated by painter Emile Bayard as a tribute to author Hector Malot and his predecessor translators.
