The latest storm news from Xinhua on June 14 said that Typhoon Wutip made a second landfall at around 12:30 am on June 14.
At landfall, Wutip had weakened but was still a severe tropical storm, with winds of 108 km/h near the center, with a minimum pressure of 980 hectarespascal at the center.
Typhoon Wutip initially made landfall near Dongful City in Hainan Island Province, southern China at around 11pm on June 13.
Typhoon forecasters in Guangdong Province, China, said that Typhoon Wutip is forecast to move northeast at a speed of 20 to 25 km/h, passing through the border area between Guangdong and Guangxi, and gradually weakening in intensity.
China's National Meteorological Administration issued a yellow alert for Typhoon Wutip on June 14 as the number one storm of the year is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the southern regions of the country.
China has a four-tier weather warning system, codes for typhoons, with red being the most serious warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
