Combating intellectual property rights infringement - responsibility from each citizen

Hoàng Lâm |

From today, May 7, the peak period of fighting, preventing, and handling violations of intellectual property rights takes place nationwide, strictly implementing legal regulations and strictly handling violations.

This is the main content in Official Dispatch No. 38 of the Prime Minister issued on May 5 affirming the determination to improve the business environment in Vietnam with a very clear spirit of no forbidden zones, no exceptions. Notably, this time the Government requests to focus on cracking down on illegal film websites, illegal television, illegal music and copyright-infringing electronic games with large access volumes.

Although the work of fighting against intellectual property rights infringement has achieved many positive results, violations are still rampant on the online environment, with websites providing pirated movies, music, and electronic games operating publicly and attracting a large number of visitors. Pirate platforms often provide free or cheap products, but cause damage to artists, producers and legitimate businesses. Moreover, this behavior reduces Vietnam's prestige in the international arena.

Every action of watching movies, listening to music, playing games from unofficial websites not only violates the law but also contributes to increasing injustice in society. Consumers need to realize that using legal products is not only an action to protect the rights of creative organizations but also helps maintain the sustainable development of this industry.

For the campaign to crack down on illegal websites to be successful, each citizen must change their habits and act responsibly by using legal services, participating in the fight and denouncing acts of copyright and intellectual property infringement.

Clearly, the responsibility to protect intellectual property rights is not only of management agencies and businesses but also of each citizen in the role of consumer.

The campaign to crack down on illegal movie, music, and football websites is not just a single campaign but part of a long-term battle to protect intellectual property rights in Vietnam. The determination of the Government, management agencies, businesses and people in fighting copyright infringement will become a decisive factor in creating a healthy business environment, protecting the legitimate rights of organizations, individuals and businesses in Vietnam.
