On 8.2, BS.CKII Pham Van Thai, Deputy Director of Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, said that the number of patients needed to spike blood transfusion after Tet, causing the source of blood reserves to be nearly exhausted, causing a lot. Difficulties in treatment.
According to Dr. Thai, during the 9 days of Tet and the following days, the center allocated 200-250 units of blood and blood products. However, the current amount of blood reserves is only enough for emergency and treatment in about a week.

Although the center receives an average of 90 - 100 blood units/day at a fixed blood donation point, it is still not enough to meet the needs.
From the New Year until now, the total amount of blood received at the blood donation point reached 1,500 units, plus 3,000 units of blood reserves before Tet. However, because the number of patients who need a sudden increase in blood, this amount of blood cannot meet the needs of treatment.
Facing the situation of blood source crisis, Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center has made plans to supplement the source of blood reserves.
The center called on the patient's family members and people in the area to actively participate in humanitarian blood donation.
At the same time, social networking platforms are also used to spread the call to organizations, units and individuals in Nghe An province, contributing to help patients overcome this difficult period.
Over the past time, the humanitarian blood donation movement has been organized by all levels and branches in Nghe An to attract a large number of cadres, party members and workers.
In 2024, the Provincial Center for Hematology and Blood Transfusion received 46,778 blood units (exceeding 112% of the central target assigned); preparing and allocating more than 77,000 units of blood and blood products to 43 health facilities in Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
However, due to the sudden increase in patient demand, leading to serious shortage of blood.
