The Drug Administration of Vietnam requested the city's Department of Health and relevant agencies to urgently investigate and handle violations.
According to the report of the Hanoi Medicine, Cosmetics and Food Testing Center, 7 samples were taken at Duc Anh Pharmacy (belonging to Duc Anh Medical Equipment Co., Ltd.), 08 Huynh Thuc Khang Street extended, Lang Thuong, Dong Da District, Hanoi, there was no information on the number of registration papers and/or the number of import licenses; Information of drug production facilities, drug import facilities.
Among them, the DIAMICRON® MR 60mg (Gliklazide) drug sample did not meet the clinical standards listed on the label, containing only 70.83% of the recorded content.

The Drug Administration Department has sent an official dispatch requesting the Hanoi Department of Health to quickly coordinate with the Police, Market Management and functional forces to comprehensively inspect the operations of Duc Anh Pharmacy; trace the origin of 7 batches of violating drugs; strictly handle them according to legal regulations and report the results before June 2, 2025.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health also requested that the Departments of Health nationwide strengthen communication to businesses and people not buy, sell, or use drugs of unknown origin; only select drugs at legal facilities and promptly report suspicious signs of fake drugs and poor quality drugs to the authorities.
Notably, on the same day, May 29, another drug sample, Theophylline Extended Release Tablets 200mg (Theophylin 200mg), was also found to not meet quality targets, with wirkstoff content only reaching 6.3% of the label. This sample was taken at An An Pharmacy (Ha Dong, Hanoi), and there is no information about the circulation or import license.
Faced with the increasing appearance of drugs of unknown origin and fake drugs, the Drug Administration of Vietnam calls on localities to deploy a peak month to fight against fake drugs, strictly implement the instructions of the Government, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health to protect people's health.
